A virgin in the lion's den…

Tonight at the gaming tables of the impossibly exclusive gentleman's club Q Virtus ruthless billionaire Narciso Valentino is finally about to destroy his enemy. But one look at the club's curvaceous hostess assigned to see to his every need and he's willing to delay the moment of satisfaction—for another kind altogether….

Talented chef Ruby Trevelli is there to force Narciso to save her business—not give him her virginity. Yet beneath that lethally sexy exterior is a tortured man who believes himself beyond redemption, and Ruby is soon facing the ultimate temptation—with the ultimate playboy!

I feel like this book had so much potential for greatness but it just fell short. The initial interactions between Ruby & Narciso at club Q Virtus was really great, but I feel like after that it sort of went down hill. Both Ruby & Narciso were constantly running hot then cold & I found it kind of annoying. Maybe I went into it with too high of expectations, but I found myself disappointed.

Why We Picked It: Indie Chick Book Tour!

Think Tucker Max meets Chelsea Handler-- This is a humorous memoir about the struggle a young woman goes through to remain faithful. Throughout the book she shares relationship advice, do's and don'ts, personal experiences and dating tips.

For Example:

*How to Determine if You're Dating a Mama's Boy

*The Do's and Don'ts of Getting Laid

*The Rules of Being a Mistress or Mister

*And a LOT More!

This is NOT a "How to Cheat Guide" but an honest peek into someone else's life. And since women don't typically admit to cheating, or are pegged for it nearly as often as men--Aren't you a little curious?

I was definitely curious to see what this book would have to say! The cover & the title both pull you in & make you want to find out what the story is all about. This story will definitely hold your attention & it gives you a different perspective to look at!

Queen Bee Chloe is going to make Toni suffer for whatever transpired between Toni and Chloe's boyfriend, Oliver, over the summer. From day one of eleventh grade, she has Toni branded as a super slut, and it isn't long before things get so ugly that Toni fears for her safety. What's a scared, powerless, and fed-up teenager to do? Guided by Cassandra—a girl with some serious problems of her own—Toni decides to stop playing the victim and take control. Cassandra has been experimenting with witchcraft, and together they cast a spell on Chloe that may actually cause her death. Could Toni have really made such an awful thing happen?

When I picked up this book I was thinking it would be all about witches & how a girl discovers she is a witch (I didn't read the description, just saw it at the library). This book was definitely a lot different than I was expecting & I am so glad that I picked it up! Toni seems to have a habit of hooking up with guys who are in awkward relationship situations & she ends up becoming the enemy of the most powerful girl at school, who is determined to make her life hell. I felt so bad for Toni & I definitely understand why she wanted to get revenge. For most of the book I didn't like Cassandra but by the end I felt so bad for her & I could definitely understand why she acted the way she did. There were parts of this book that I wasn't crazy about in the beginning but I'm glad that I stuck with it because there was a lot of depth that I didn't expect. I would definitely suggest it!

A woman and baby walk into a bar…

It might sound like a joke, but saloon owner Dylan Kavanagh knows it's all too serious. Struggling single mom Mia Larin needs him. She helped him when they were young, and the bachelor means to do everything in his power to protect Mia and her child. Giving her a job, a room under his own roof, is easy. Keeping it all about business isn't….

Dylan is a successful, eligible catch, but are Mia's feelings just a case of hero worship? Or will she still need him, still want him, once her circumstances change?

I wasn't sure what Mia & Dylan's connection would be-I thought maybe they had been in a relationship in the past or that he had chased after her and she turned him down. I was surprised to find that she had been his tutor & that he had actually been a jerk to her in the past, which was one of the reason he claimed to be helping her now that she was a single mom, without a job. As much as the two tried to deny it, there was more than just chemistry between them! I love how Dylan feel in love with the Mia's daughter right away & so did his family, although I was annoyed with how his mom was a little judgmental about some of Mia's decisions.

The one thing that did annoy me was how Dylan was always thinking of himself as not good enough for Mia, simply because she was smarter than he was. He even does some damage to their relationship because he is to stubborn to believe that she might actually want to be with him. Thankfully he is able to salvage things in the end!!

Rory Fentress was the town bad boy who made good. Now a successful businessman and an honorary member of the elite Texas Cattleman's Club, he needs a permanent home in Royal, Texas, to run for state senate--and he's got his eye on the ranch run by his former lover.

Shannon Morrison ended her steamy affair with Rory, afraid he's only using her to get the ranch. But she'll never give up her family's hard-won legacy--even if Rory is more tempting than ever.

Rory knows what he wants, and he wants Shannon. He's determined to change her mind about their future--and the best place to do that is between the sheets...

If you are looking for something short & sweet I would definitely suggest this novella! I'm not really a big "novella" fan in general, because I always seem to want more. This book was no different-I wish it had been longer, because it was just long enough to get me hooked! Its hard to judge a novella, because they are so short & it is hard to develop both characters & storyline in such a short amount of time.

Billionaire Lex Rochester has a problem. Someone is trying to sabotage the family company, but the investigation needs to be highly discreet because Lex suspects it’s one of his own relatives. His solution—hire IT security specialist Jacinta Greene, who also happens to be his ex-girlfriend. With Jacinta posing as his newly reconciled girlfriend, the other Rochesters won’t suspect they’re being monitored.

The last thing Jacinta wants is to see Lex again. Their breakup still tortures her, but she’ll do just about anything to help her kid brother, even pretend to reunite with Lex. But the more time she spends with Lex, the more she realizes she’s never gotten over him. Which is bad news, because she and Lex are fatally incompatible.
The fire that still burns between them is as hot and irresistible as ever. Can Jacinta remember what’s real and what’s fake, or will she be hurt by Lex all over again?

I have to be honest & say that I picked this book because of its cover! I hoped that the story would be as smoking hot as the guy on the cover and I was not disappointed! The story pretty much had everything you could want: sex, intrigue, and even some lessons learned in the end! Lex and Jacinta were perfect together and the chemistry between them jumped off the pages! I loved the story that Jacinta made up about how he proposed (and how it came up again at the end). Kwan does a great job weaving this story and making it believable, something that is often lacking in romances!

Where secrets lurk behind every door…

A whisper, a rumor, a scandal!

Glitz, luxury and decadence—Juliet Montague should be having the time of her life. Her friend's hen party is being held at the extravagant Chatsfield Hotel, London, but when she is surrounded by perfect, ultra-stylish women, each with rings on their fingers, a fake fiancĂ© seems her only defense.

Until that very same fake fiancé arrives at the party! Now she must persuade Marcus Bainbridge, her older brother's gorgeous best friend, not to give the game away. But as the charade deepens, will the lines between what's real and what's fantasy start to blur?

I really enjoyed reading The Chatsfield: Sheikh's Scandal by Lucy Monroe, so I was excited to read this book, which is supposed to be a prequel.  First, I have to say that I'm not really sure how this is a prequel. Maybe I need to read the other book again, but the only thing I saw in common was the hotel. Second, I was sad at how short this book was! I really liked the story and would have loved it if it had been longer! I feel like everything happened so quickly and I definitely think certain aspects could have been drawn out. It was a quick read tho, which I did like! I would definitely suggest it!

Piper Reilly is in trouble. She needs a cash infusion, and she’s just left a scorching hot man in Florida to get her life in Colorado back on track. Then her surfside one-night-stand turns out to be her new boss, billionaire Matt DeLeo, with an offer she can’t refuse – agree to be the face of his brewery’s newest concoction or lose her job. A few weeks modeling for the billionaire playboy and her money worries are over, and she can definitely resist Matt’s gorgeous smile and muscular, tattooed arms. It’s strictly business. Right?

Matt DeLeo is in trouble. He’s found the perfect woman to sell Passion Creek Brewery’s newest brew, but if he wants her on his posters, he’ll have to keep his hands to himself. His problem? All he wants to do is drink in Piper. It will take more than blackmail for Matt to get his way.

It is obvious from the beginning what is going to happen in this book. Matt and Piper are both way too predictable and there really isn't very much excitement. There were two things that could have been expanded on in the book that I think would have created more excitement for the read. The first one would have been more drama/interactions with Piper's pregnant sister, who I thought could have really spiced things up.  I also thought that the situation with Piper's ex could have been used more. Overall I just wasn't a big fan of the story.

Unexpected Consequences

As a powerful Dallas oil executive, planning is what Lizzie Baron does best. But she certainly didn't plan on getting pregnant following one memorable night after a rodeo in Fort Worth. Now she needs to figure out how she's going to raise a baby with a man she barely knows.

Aspiring bronc rider Chris Miller always hoped he'd see Lizzie again, though not quite like this. The pregnancy is a surprise—and so is finding out she's a member of the powerful Baron clan—but the more Chris gets to know Lizzie, the more he realizes he wants to be with her. When Lizzie learns Chris works for a rival company, she feels betrayed. Can two perfect strangers trust each other enough to become the perfect family?

Girl meets boy, boy & girl hook up, girl ends up pregnant & they live happily ever after. It's a pretty standard storyline for romance novels but I usually still enjoy it. For some reason I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. I liked all of the characters, but I didn't LOVE any of them. Lizzie & Chris were a cute couple, but I liked him more than I liked her. He made a lot of sacrifices for her (and the baby) & all she did was doubt him.  I also wish that they would have explored some of the other characters a little bit more, because I feel like that would have added some depth to the book.

Why We Read It: Indie Chick Lit Blog Tour

Cerise Norrell, Type A substitute teacher by day, is ready to quit being a domme. Despite her best intentions, none of her partners can keep up with her scene fetish and attention to detail—let alone her demand that they have a costume and set waiting every afternoon by the time she’s home from school.

Over a dozen potential subs have left her in the past year, but just when Cerise thinks it’s impossible—that she’ll have to go back to vanilla relationships, or be alone forever—she meets William, who wants to make all her fantasies come true. He turns her home into a geisha’s dream apartment, a concert hall with a grand piano (which he uses to play an original composition while wearing a tuxedo), and even rents an abandoned loft for a zombie apocalypse scene—complete with canned goods.

But there’s something strange about William. Well, a lot of strange things. He must be absurdly rich, since he can afford to provide extravagant costumes and props on a daily basis without having to leave work early. He must be insane, since he puts up with Cerise’s over-the-top demands. And most importantly, he doesn’t redden when he’s spanked, and his skin is as cool as satin sheets. When Cerise discovers she’s become dome to the infamous “Chilly Willy,” as he’s known throughout the BDSM urban lore, she begins to find out there’s a whole lot more to her handsome submissive than a creative mind and a hard body.

And when it’s William, ironically, who starts pressing Cerise to give him the kind of commitment she’s never given anyone, it’ll take everything she has to work through her issues, confront her past, and learn to be vulnerable.

From the very beginning this book was unlike anything else I've ever read before. Everything about it was so different from anything I've ever read that it held my attention, although I often found myself blushing while reading! I haven't read much "erotic romance" so I can't really compare this to anything, but I can definitely say it was a new experience for me! Be sure to check it out if you are looking for a unique, erotic romance!

In English society, the rules of engagement have stood the test of time. Until a Reckless Bride falls deeply, scandalously in love…

When Lady Claire Jellicoe agreed to a walk in the moonlight, she never imagined her titled companion might have brutal motives. Nor could she have dreamed up such a brave rescue by the most unexpected savior of all: an inscrutable nobleman with a daring plan of escape—and a deliciously tempting embrace…

Timothy Evans, the Duke of Fenmore, has palmed more treasures than he can count. Even for a man who grew up thieving in London’s stews, a stolen bride should be beyond the pale. But Fenmore won’t let scandal ruin the spirited beauty’s reputation. And now that she’s stolen his heart, how can he ever let her go…

Not your typical romance, this book is filled with tons of excitement & not just of the romantic variety! For a majority of the story, the search for the murderer is the main focus, with the majority of the romance on the back burner. But feelings keep coming up & getting tangled with the mystery, which I really liked! I loved how quickly Lady Claire caught on to things & how much the Duke not only loved her but respected her.

It was so easy to fall in love with this couple & I loved how there was more going on than just their relationship. There were a couple of things that I wasn't crazy about, but nothing major! I would definitely suggest picking it up!
